Reason #8 – I call my child “this”
Reason #8 – I call my child “this”
May 28(I actually call him lots of other things, but I’ll save them for a different post.)
If you ever see me carrying C plus groceries, a diaper bag, a folded stroller, a potted plant and some takeaway (this happens more often than I’d care to admit,) you may feel like topping up your Karma account by offering to lend me a hand. I will smile brightly and say “So kind of you! Thanks a bunch! Could you hold ‘this’ for me?”
And then I won’t hand you the plant, the stroller, the bag, the shopping or the curry.
I will hand you the boy.
I’m sure “this” will come up when he starts going to therapy in a few years.

“This” is adorable!! Just like Sarah, I call mine the boy and the girl… The girl will be off to college this fall. I will miss the girl! Enjoy “this”, the time flies…sigh!

This is so funny! I refer to my son as “the boy”. At 15 he now towers over me, but he will always be “the boy”! ;)

I think C will tower over me by the time he’s 10. We should get some bets going!

Oh God, I say that all the time! Twin 21 month olds and 6 month old, you bet there are days when they are all just “this” to me! (My mother thinks I’m awful, because “they’re people.”)

Suggested reply: “They’re not people until they can buy me a drink!”

This is hilarious, because I have done it too! The first time, I was in walmart with my oldest daughter and my cousin. I needed to get into my pocket for my bank card, and I was in a hurry so I just turned to my cousin and said, “Here, hold this,” and handed her my baby! We laughed and laughed. Now it is like an ongoing joke between us.

It’s not like they will understand or remember! No harm done… yet! ;)
And yeah, it is also a running joke with my sister!
