Reason #127 – I force my son to sleep so I can have time for myself

Dec 16

This is amazing. AMAZING. I have found a way to keep C asleep against his will.

Seriously, he has tried to wake up three times: one because my sister’s retarded sweet dog barked her head off at the weekly Jehova’s Witnesses, one because my idiot beloved sister dropped the phone and made a huge noise and one just because. All three times I have knocked him back out.

This is genius. I should get a patent on it and become a millionaire.

Can you imagine all the free time I could have if I just kept doing this? C would take several 3-hour-long naps through the day and then sleep for 12 hours at night! Freedom! I could go to the beach! Or to London!

I’m gonna pack my bags right now!

Oh wait.

I guess I’d need someone to keep rocking C while I’m away, huh?

Damn.

This is just like The Golden Bough, only worse. Because not in a million years will a knight come to fight me for the honour of rocking my boy to sleep.

Nevermind, we are 2 hours in and he’s still zonked.

Rock, rock, rock.

Sleep, sleep, sleep.

Write, write, write.

Happy, happy, happy!

At least you haven’t resorted to making C his own Bloody Mary.

Lmao! You gotta do what ya gotta do. When my oldest was a lil baby she would only sleep in the swing. The only problem was that this was back before all the cool swings had batteries and you had to hand crank that sucker. If it ever slowed too much or GOD FORBID stopped…..she turned into banshee baby. So you can imagine the muscles I had from cranking that stupid thing!

I am so jealous. I just spent another sleepless night with mine. Her sister slept through the night by six months, this one is almost eight months, and no amount of rocking, boob, bottle, yelling (at my husband), crying (me), back rubbing, walking, hair pulling (mine) or sleeping pills (I wish) will keep her asleep longer than ten minutes. I’m thinking of returning her and seeing if I can get a refund.

If you still have the receipt they might take her back, but they won’t give you your money back – they’ll just let you exchange her for another.
    So choose carefully! :D
