Reason #142 – I prefer a tattooed girl to my son

Mar 05

I have been hearing about this irresistible Swedish girl for months, and for months I have avoided meeting her, for fear I would not be able to withstand her charms. But today I finally met her, and ooh boy, she’s all that!

So first I pretended to be napping, and then I pretended to be working, and then I pretended to be DEAD so I could be rid of my son and get to know her better.

And finally I went all in and left C at my mom’s house (where he will be spoiled to bits by his grandma, auntie and unca for the last time in a while) before rushing back home with the Swedish temptress and a bottle of Vodka.

Sorry kid. We’ll be spending plenty of one-on-one time starting on Monday, but tonight mommy’s got a date.

Lisbeth, meet me in the bathtub in 5. I’ll bring drinks.

    They’re true page-flyers. Un-put-downeable.

Which is why i’m not getting the next installment until I get daycare for C. Just sayin’

Do it! Lisbeth is f***ing awesome! The author did a good job of finishing up the last book so it felt done, but if he had not passed away within months of submitting them all I could totally see there being more. Great series! So sad about the author.

Isn’t it terrible that he missed all the success? Breaks my heart.

Now where’s book #2? I NEED TO READ IT!

I just finished the last of this series and I really liked it a lot. I actually avoided reading it too because it seemed like it might be a little dark for me but I got sucked in and read all three over the last month. I did rack up some library fees but I think it was cheaper than buying the books.

I didn’t even worry about “dark”, I just shun bestsellers as a rule because they tend to be very badly written.

This one was &^&^%^%ing gripping. Loved it.

Time to get books #2 and 3!

I’m a new reader of your blog. Judging by what I’ve read so far, you are a totally awesome person (and mom) and I am officially a fan.

That is a great series. Er, trilogy. Well, he could write more, but the last one seemed pretty “it’s all over”ish. Anyway. Great books. A bit dark in parts, and some of the writing style threw me a bit, but very intriguing characters – specifically quirky Lisbeth. Enjoy the read – and the “me” time that only crappy moms require…
