Reason #147 – I save the best food all for myself
Reason #147 – I save the best food all for myself
Mar 21Remember Cinderella? Her evil stepmom and stepsisters ate all the good stuff and only gave her stale bread and water.
Meet C-nderello.
Poor boy! His evil stepmom gave him nothing but a baked spud for dinner (with some sour cream and chives for added insult) and then waited for him to fall asleep so she could enjoy a Baja prawn cocktail all by herself, without sharing even a crumb with him.
The cruelty, the meanness, the evil!
And it’s not even the first time I deprive the child of proper food!
This happened a couple of weeks ago when we had to stay at the (crap) Marriott Hotel in the (Bush) International Airport in Houston because of a monster delay in our flight to Cali. And this here mama needed a treat to make up for 24 hours in transit with a hyper little boy who refused to quiet down even after serious doses of baby tranquilizer. And there was no minibar.
Hey, he likes potatoes.
I’ll worry when I see singing mice sewing clothes for him. Till then, the prawns are mine! ALL MINE!

I have a fairly observant 4 YO and yet I have mastered the technique of sneaking goodies (high quality chocolate, gourmet cupcakes, etc.) into the grocery cart without his noticing so that my husband and I don’t have to share. Which is not to say he is cupcake-deprived (trust me) but this way Mommy get’s her treat too.
Plus my kids wouldn’t touch a baja prawn if there were playmobil toys attached to it so I’m not even sure if you actually deprived him of anything…

I hate apples that go soft so I eat the crunch ones and gives the kids the soft apples as they are not fussed. The first comment on this post made me laugh, this is a realy cool site and filled my lunch hour.

Kudos for being honest about your email address, and thanks for your opinion – I like a little controversy every now and then.
I’m baffled that you’d be shocked by this instead of the many really rude posts out there, but hey – maybe you’re a foodie like me!

you know how babies are allergic to strawberries for a while? i’m pretty sure the same rule applies to a list of other foods, namely nachos, cupcakes, mac n cheese (but only if it has the crusty stuff on top), Lindt white chocolate truffles, and chicken parmesan.
i’m pretty sure shrimp cocktail was on the list too.

There was no mini-bar.
There were no complaints.
I say you did well.
That picture of him looking at the chip like he’s pondering if it’s the center of the universe- Priceless!

I suspect the ostriches would say toddlers shouldn’t eat prawns so you have done the right thing!

I drowned it in hot sauce instantly so I wouldn’t feel tempted to wake him up and share a little!
