Reason #164 – My son wallows in filth
Reason #164 – My son wallows in filth
Jun 06Have you heard that anecdote of the frog in a pot of water that warms gradually? The frog never notices the temperature change until it’s too hot and it dies or something.
We’re like that frog, but with filth.
Before my sister arrived last week I went on a cleaning bender: kitchen, bathrooms, C’s room, everything (or so I thought) was sparkling, tidy and ready for its close-up. For a few minutes, I was proud of my domains, and she was suitably impressed by how nicely we live.
And then I took her to the mall, and she recoiled in horror when she saw C’s stroller.
In case the filth is not readily apparent, here is a terrifying close-up of his seat:
It looks like those haunted houses where ghosts stain the walls to make the tenants go.
And trust me: it smells worse than it looks.
I don’t know whether to rip it off the stroller and throw it in boiling water or to just set it on fire to prevent it from spreading.
Maybe I should bring it to one of the Biology labs here in Caltech – I’m sure they will find the cure for cancer among the bacteria party that’s going on in there!

I didn’t notice the problem until I looked the picture more closely. I just hope the stain in the stroller will be removed as much as possible. Your baby looked cute too.

Who’s looking at the stroller when your ADORABLE baby is around?

LMFAO We had a green stroller when my kid was smaller, and from all the usage and shit it had started turning brown. Iuno if it was from the weather, being thrown out in the rain or from my stinky little boy and his cooties.
We eventually threw it out and made him to walk on his own two feet (yes, horrible!! but he has legs I say USE ‘EM!!)
For those of you going OMGAR!!! he could already walk I was just to lazy to chase his ass around all over the place :P

Oh, C can walk, jump and boogie – I strap him into the stroller for his safety and that of his surroundings! (as I bet you did too!)

Every time I read your reasons I think “I let my baby ate his little brother´s umbilical chord (I kept it, don´t ask why)” and even the biological arm that is C´s stroll looks so innocent… Should I go to the confession booth?

We used to own a stroller in that same pretty colour for my eldest… then the stains began. After a while, I gave up. The stroller we replaced it with (and now use for my even grubbier second child) is black – albeit somewhat sun-faded into more of a grey. It’s still an improvement, though…

What’s wrong with me that I can’t see the problem?

You’re a fan of leopard print, maybe?

Were you one of those people that, before you had kids, *swore* your kid would only eat at the table and never in the car/strolller/whatever? I was. Good times…

I don’t think I swore that, but many other oaths have come to bite me in the ass. I was a much better parent when I didn’t have C, and that’s a fact!
