Reason #185 – I play “Amantes Clandestinos” with my son
Reason #185 – I play “Amantes Clandestinos” with my son
Aug 30Sometimes I give myself the creeps.
There’s this game C and I play at the supermarket.
I like to call it called Amantes Clandestinos after the legendary 30 Rock soap opera.
It goes like this:
C sits in the shopping cart looking all perky and adorable, all blue eyes and pink cheeks and cherub lips.
Who could resist? Not me!
So I go nose-to-nose with him, use my hands as blinkers for both of us, and whisper dramatically: “Amémonos a oscuras! Nadie nos ve! Dame un beso a escondidas!”
Then we kiss a few times.
Oh delirious joy, to be kissed by those lips!
I take my hands off and we’re both a bit dazzled by Target’s bright lights.
And then I realize people around us are looking at me funny.
What? Is it really that inappropriate to tell my son: “Let’s love each other in the dark! No one can see us! Kiss me secretly!”?
…OK, yeah, I guess it is.
Damn. It was my favourite part of shopping.

And speaking of shopping, what about a gorgeous new SnapSac tote to distract other shoppers from your romantic scenes? It’s the easiest giveaway in the world, and you still have two days to enter. Go on, you know you deserve a new bag!

Yeah, we should probably all save up for therapy…let’s start one of those foundations that sends junk mail telling you that you can save on college and baby life insurance (which totally creeps me out by the way) and start a therapy-saving program!!
And…I would totally marry my son if I could!! He’s adorable and lots more fun to hang out with than my “real” husband!!

Well it doesn’t need saying that C is gorgeous! I was actually referring to your “secret” while u shop :)

Awwww, I think it’s a cute little “thing” you guys can have together until he’s old enough to say “gross mom, get away from me”.

I seriously doubt he’ll keep up the preternatural cuteness then!

Well, it will be a different kind of preternatural cuteness. With awkwardness and the teen boy smell.
