Reason #29 – I gave in to peer pressure and left my baby on a sidewalk
Jul 08During our recent trip I was reminded more than once of that old adage: “When in Rome, neglect your child like the Romans do.”
It seems that people here in The Developed World think nothing of leaving their kids in a pram outside of a store while they go in and browse.
After all, it’s not like someone is going to steal them and use them for parts sell them to Angelina Jolie put them up for adoption or something, like they do in lesser countries.
I’m all about learning the local customs, so I parked C’s pram on the sidewalk and went into a lovely bookshop to buy a thank-you present for our very kind hostess (Carlos Ruiz Zafon’s “The Shadow of the Wind”, since you ask.)
OK, I’ll admit it: I was inside only long enough to snap a quick picture, after which I dashed out to frantically grab my pram like a madwoman, while holding the door open with my foot, yelling my order and throwing money at the bookseller. (I did it again! I created a pram-by bookshop!)
Might as well face it. I’ll never be cool like the Scandahoovians are.
J,M & J!!!! Could you possibly have shoved more crap into C’s pram? Did you eventually make the boy crawl along side just to give yourself more room for loot?

No sólo lo dejaste en la acera, viendo la foto veo que era una zona de construcción con andamios. Cualquier cosa desde un clavo hasta un martillo pudo haberle caído encima. La próxima vez deberías comprarle y ponerle a C un casco de esos de Bob Constructor.
