Reason #41 – My baby is so hungry he has to hunt to eat.
Reason #41 – My baby is so hungry he has to hunt to eat.
Jul 18I’m not being funny here. I mean it. The boy hunts, kills and eats.
I first saw it happen in the metro, when a well-meaning friend caught a little spider on its way to work and showed it to C.
“Look, a spider! Isn’t it cute?”
ZOT
“How odd, it was here a second ago.”
My friend didn’t see what happened, but I did (thanks to my superhuman mommy vision.) Like a chameleon on speed, C’s attack was too fast for human eyes: the spider was there, and half a nanosecond later it wasn’t.
The following morning, I found cobwebs in C’s diaper.
I brushed it off as a one-time occurrence, blaming it on jetlag and travelling stress, but my mom reported a similar event the other day when she was minding him (“Sweetheart, look at this cute ladybug!” *ZOT* “Oh my, where did the ladybug go?”) I thought she was joking until I changed a polka-dotted diaper the next day.
Of course this makes me a bad mom. I must not be feeding him enough real food or not watching him closely enough or something. Also, it makes me laugh every time. Bad mom! Bad!
Come to think of it, the neighbor said this morning that his cat is missing. Uh-oh.
I’ll let someone else do C’s diaper tomorrow just in case.
(See? I knew this was a reason why I’m a bad mom.)

Oh boy… I don’t even want to know what’d been in Levi’s mouth. What I don’t know won’t hurt me… ;)

Why is it that they will put anything in their mouth – but try a veggie and it’s NOOO and Gross? LOL!

I’m not there yet: at the moment C eats everything that falls in his grubby lil hands – dead or alive!

Watch out for a hairball!
Heligirl, that's one serious confession! Love it.

OMG that's so funny! My mom used to tell me stories about when I was in diapers, I would search for dead bugs behind the furniture to eat them. She always said it was only protein and wouldn't hurt me. LOL

Ha, ha, that's hilarious. I've seen my boy put far worse things than a spider in his mouth, I tell you what. I have dogs. Little dogs, with little poo. They get dingle berries. They come in the house and shake. You do the math. Should I be sending this in as a confession?

Lool! My mom has three cats and a dog, so all that is keeping my boy from eating dog and cat poop is the fact that he cannot walk. Yet.
That is a brilliant confession, even if you made it in the open. I’ll add it to the files :D

Please. You're just making sure he's getting extra protein.

To be fair, HE is the one making sure. So maybe I should up his protein intake and start worrying about the neighbour’s shrubbery instead…
