Reason #48 – My blog is more important to me than my son
Reason #48 – My blog is more important to me than my son
Jul 23This is a true story.
Catching up with one of my best friends today:
She: So, how’s life?
Me: Brilliant! My blog is doing great, I’m learning lots and having a blast! And the Confession Booth is a hit and I installed cool new bookma…
She: How’s C?
Me: *spontaneously bursting into flames of shame*
Gentle Reminder: If you ever bump into me, PLEASE ask me “How’s C?” instead of “How’s things?” so I don’t embarrass myself like this again. Thank you.
Now let’s pretend this never happened, shall we?

Ah, this is so true for me as well. Just last night my dad called and asked how things were. Then finally he asked, how's mr. bean? Oh ya, I forgot to mention that he started walking the other day. Oops. But my blog is going well…

Can I borrow your dad? My mom would KILL me if I told her about the blog before the boy. She actually calls me “C’s mom”. To. My. Face.

I tell you, we cannot win this one. What the %^$# is one supposed to answer to “How's life?”
Also, the Confession Booth IS doing great and I'm proud as the shizzle. Dios va a tener que entender!

If it makes you feel any better when someon asks about my daughters, the oldest (tween) one in particular, I generally tell them she is the spawn of satan and as much as I love her, I really do not like her at all. lol They probably wish they hadn't asked.

Like I told Melo, it's lose-lose: either i'm a degenerate heartless mother or I'm a boring baby-obsessed one.
Let me know when it gets fixed, I can't wait to comment on manbroidery!

You are hanging out with the wrong people. There are people out there who definately don't give a rats about the fruit of your loins and would far rather discuss your blog. Thanks so much for pointing out my comment issue on the site. xxx D

From what I read, a lot of mothers have issues with blog guilt. But considering the fact that we're well into the first week of the 31DBBB, I'd say that was the most likely answer for you to give! Good luck!

Melo: Perish the thought! How DARE I talk about something other than my child?
It's a lose-lose proposition, because if I had spoken about C then I'd be one of those “boring moms that only speak of their spawn.”
Alison, hear hear. I DREAM about the durn thing!
C, really? I'm off to see what is so controversial about your blog that you don't want your identity revealed!

I don't talk about my blog to people IRL, I'm not that brave, but I still *feel* this. Do I feel this.

What … for shame, woman! You mean you're *gasp* more than just a mom!?!?

Hilarious! I think I would respond the same way during the 31DBBB. It's ingrained in us right now!
