The Blessed Child’s 2010 – Part 3
Jan 05Happy 2011 everyone! Chez 2011 things are going a bit crazy, with a wedding and a big move looming in the future as well as a short flat-hunting trip to Pasadena in a few weeks. Oo-ee! Color me scattered!
Moving on with the Blessed Child’s 2010, the third quarter of the month was comparatively quiet.
But by no means dull!
July
July was a big month for me because I thought my relationship with the Dane was over due to me hogging the oxygen mask. C never noticed. Here in blogworld I spent most of July reporting on the horrors perpetrated during our time in the Scandilands, and we launched the ever controversial Bad Mom Confessions. Towards the end of the month I left C at home to go on an overnight business trip (ahem) and he took his revenge by taking his first steps when I was away. Vindictive little tyke.
August
August is a holy month here in Costa Rica because the Virgen de los Angeles made her alleged apparition atop a river rock on August 2. It is also holy here in 1000 Reasons, since coincidentally it happens to be the month in which I started a cult around my son’s unearthly cuteness. Come, Holy Followers of the Blessed Child! Show your faithfulness by making a donation! No amount is too small! (I am not even joking now. Mama’s still unemployed, freelance is picking up slowly and savings are running low.)
September
September had me and C fighting over the same little girl, a delicious little Swede who melted both of our hearts with her Viking charms. She definitely preferred him over me – clever girl! – but that didn’t stop me from cheating on my own son. The other big deal in September was C getting a fancypants new crib, which led to my arrest for domestic violence and a night of Hostal-style horror.
As if this had not been enough excitement, we ended the year in major style. The last of the Blessed 2010 coming up tomorrow!
Hey don’t forget there are a lot of crap dads out there, too! Don’t be too hard on yourself, you don’t sound half as bad as some of the other people I’ve come across out there ;)
